Students in my class were visiting my daughter at my house at the weekend. I knew his parents both as friends and professionally. My students would often call me “mom” and we would laugh at that. When I taught in middle school, I found it interesting that some troubled students mistakenly called me “mom”. Usually, I’d mess up the situation by saying something vaguely humorous, like “sure, I can pretend if it means you’re going to finish your job”.
